Brant Tilds grew up in Detroit, Michigan and started playing trumpet professionally when he was 16. A graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, Indiana University, and the California Institute of the Arts, he worked in Los Angeles,California, as a freelance musician for a number of years, before moving to Copenhagen, Denmark in 1998. There, he was appointed assistant professor at Copenhagen University Music Institute, and freelanced around Scandanavia, Spain, and the United States, before moving to England in 2004.
Over the last 20 years Brant has worked with a number of diverse musical projects and musicians, as a composer percussionist and trumpet player, with groups such as: the Danish Radio Underholdnings Orchestra (DK), Zentropa Films(DK), Fox Television(USA), Telemundo Univision (MEXICO), Capitol Records(USA), Fonovisa (MEXICO), Fundacion Vilapariso (SPAIN), Melcochita (PERU), La Sonora Dinamita (COLOMBIA), Eddie Palmieri(USA), Ozomatli (USA), Cut Chemist (USA), and musicians such as Charlie Haden, Jim Donica, Joe LaBarbera, Jovino Santos Neto, Candido Rodriguez, Johnny Martinez, Lou Gonzales, Danny Moldanado, and many others.
