Chris Goodman started playing the Clarinet at the age of 9 and has studied with many distinguished Clarinettists including the late Angela Fussell, Kristoph Klima, Nick Cox, and currently Tim Lines. He regularly competed as a soloist at a local and national level from a young age before attending the Royal Northern College Junior department for 18 months, studying with Anne Mc Naught.

He has performed with the Welsh National Youth Orchestra, and the North Wales Youth Orchestra. In 2005 he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music, London. In 2007 he was appointed principal clarinettist of the London Irish Symphony Orchestra, and will play with the newly-established opera company, Situation Opera. He delivered the premiere of composer Solfa Carlile’s solo clarinet work, Three Kinds, in 2008, and also commissioned her recent work The Cat And The Moon, for Clarinet and Piano.
