As a Bass Trombonist and Pianist, Darrem has played with the Ulster Youth Jazz Orchestra, the City of Belfast Training Orchestra and the CBSM String Orchestra. With the University, he sings with the University Singers, Scholars Ensemble and the Chapel Choir and is former President of Exeter University Symphony Orchestra. He currently plays with the London Irish Symphony Orchestra and sings with male four part harmony quartet “Perfect Fourth”. Darren also sung solo with Exeter University Choral Society last year and will return as a soloist at the end of this term.
An alumnus of Belfast Royal Academy and the City of Belfast School of Music, Darren is in his second year at Exeter University reading Classics and Theology. He holds a choral scholarship with the University Chapel of the Holy Trinity, and is a Senior University Music scholar. Previously, he has sung with Belfast Royal Academy choirs, his parish church choir of St. Paul and St. Barnabas, Belfast based chamber choir Bon Accord and London based Sanctus Choir. He has studied under Marion Wood, Darron Moore, and currently with Anneke Freeland.
