Graham Neal was educated at St. Olave’s School, Orpington then studied music at the University of Surrey where he was awarded the Robert Naylor prize for the most meritorious degree recital. During this time, he held a choral scholarship at Guildford Cathedral. Graham went on to study on the Knack opera course at the English National Opera. Most recently he studied as a postgraduate with John Wakefield and Mary Hill at Trinity College of Music, achieving a distinction in his final recital.
Graham has a wide repertoire as a soloist, ranging from early music to 20th Century works. Recent performances include Bach’s Magnificat, Elgar’s Coronation Ode, Handel’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria. He has frequently taken the role of the Evangelist in Bach’s St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio.
Graham is adept at choral singing, appearing frequently in concert and on recordings. He sings with the choirs of Westminster Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, English Voices, Oxford Philomusica and Cappella Nova, as well as being a member of the choir of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London.
Graham’s operatic experience includes Sextus in Julius Caesar for Runaway Opera at Blackheath Halls and Don José in Carmen for Mean Time Opera at Greenwich Theatre, as well as chorus member for English National Opera, l’Orchestre des Champs- Elysées and Stanley Hall Opera.
