Prior to his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Nicolas lived in Swansea where he performed lieder and song recitals, choral music, at weddings and funerals, in opera galas where he regularly worked in ensemble, and as the regular soloist at the annual RNLI concert in Mumbles. Nicholas was a member of Welsh National Youth Opera, taking part in workshops and choral performances. He also sung and played guitar and harmonica as a soloist and in a folk music duo at casual venues and art exhibitions in Swansea and more recently in London. His singing studies with Penny Ryan culminated in achieving distinction level for the Associate of Trinity College London diploma.
Now studying singing with John Evans in the third year of the undergraduate level at GSMD, Nicolas has performed in productions of Dido and Aneas, Cavalleria Rusticana (at the Barbican and in Cesena, Italy) and concerts of opera excerpts, where he most recently played the role of Count Almaviva in a trio from Le Nozze di Figaro. He has also sung the baritone solo part in Faure's Requiem and in masterclasses with Robin Bowman.
Nicolas is 23 years old, born in Henley on Thames and lived in Karachi, Pakistan for five years. Other than singing his main interests are the theory of music, art, walking, nature, and sport, most notably football ("I am captain of GSMD football team, and have organised tours to Wales last year and Scotland this year). I am half Italian and am fluent in the language but slightly less so with the cuisine!"
